MS C2 - Power BI Reporting Part 2: Creating Dashboards and Reports from your Data Warehouse

This session will demonstrate using Microsoft’s Power BI Data Analysis tool to create Dashboards and Reports for your organization. The Data Warehouse built in Part 1 of the course will be used to obtain source data, as well as other data sources. The class will cover:

•  Power BI as a tool for transforming data for a report/dashboard
•  Connecting to your data using Data Sources
•  Collecting data from multiple sources into one data set for reporting purposes
•  How to transform your data to meet your reporting needs – split data, pivot data, use several files as one file
•  Deciding when data transform needs to happen – in the Warehouse or in Power BI?
•  Using Visualizations to analyze and find the Story of your Data
•  Using Slicers to include and exclude data
•  How to aid visualization by grouping data on the fly
•  Designing reports and dashboards for Desktop and Mobile viewing
•  Using your company’s custom colors to inform all visuals
•  Creating Dashboards and Multi-page reports with Power BI Visualizations
•  Sharing content with other groups
